Three of Hearts, Kelly Jamieson
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
At 160 pages this is quite a short read but packed with heat. It’s all story, with a great deal condensed into a short novel, no wasted words just ones that add to the tale. I love band novels and this was no exception, and the Three of Hearts made a great vehicle for the people in this story.
They’re at the end of the current tour when Haylee checks into Facebook to see her boyfriend in a clinch with someone else. Media often presents things wrongly, as someone on the edge of fame she knows that only too well so searches more before jumping to the obvious conclusion but she’s right, he’s been seen out often with a new lady, a very beautiful model. How can she compete with that she thinks, when she’s a reputation for being a tomboy and struggles with all things feminine..Band mates Ben and Lucas help her at the after show party when she’s had a bit too much to drink, not drunk but well buzzed and they go back to her hotel room.
That’s where the action starts, and they have a sexy fun evening. They assure Haylee she’s very sexy, that she sees herself wrongly. I get the feeling Haylee is more upset about her replacement being so beautiful and sexy than she is about losing the boyfriend, and it seems Ben and Lucas think that too from the way they persuade her that she’s gorgeous, hot and sensual and they set about proving it wholeheartedly!
I love Haylee, and she’s so like many of us, seeing only our faults. Ben and Lucas are perfect and we can feel just how much they are attracted to her, but within that there’s a very definite undercurrent of sensuality running between the two of them. Ben’s ready to go with it but Lucas…well he’s more reserved. Then Haylee feels maybe she’s misread the situation, and runs out on Christmas Eve. she hates Christmas anyway but this has really been the end for her. she’s upset, alone again and feeling rejected and that’s this is how it always ends for her. There’s a huge leap for the three to take if they are to stay together as a band and a trio of lovers.
Its a shortish read, but very sexy and erotic, lots of sensuality to read between the way they look at each other and their actions. I really enjoy that, the build up of will they won’t they and then working out what next.
Stars: Five, a fun and erotic read.
