Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
I’m a lover of romance novels especially those which have some extra to add, like suspense, so jumped at the chance to review this having been tempted by the amazon sample.
I found this a bit confusing to begin though as we meet Brenna, then whip forward in time to meet Sean and Katherine. Just when I’m into that part it switches again…and then moves forward to current time. Although each part was interesting and certainly kept up the suspense element, I couldn’t seem to relate them to each other. About a third of the way through though I began to connect the dots, and see just where the story was going. Its fast paced and at times quite harrowing, not graphically but thinking just what is going on.
Katherine’s mum died when she was young, and its just been her and her father since then. Its clear he adores her and would do anything for her, and she for hm. The face he shows her and the rest of the world though is very different from the greedy, calculating man behind the sexual enterprise that is so devastating to so many lives. Clearly he’s a very clever man, and has so far managed to hide this side of his business completely. Sebastian, his right hand man in the day to day side, seems to be the only person that bridges the two businesses, the sexual exploitation one and the upfront, very respectable elite car one. He’s one of those people who make you skin crawl just reading about them, and though he’s always circumspect Katherine doesn’t feel comfortable in his company. After her kidnap she suffers memory loss about much of the events, until her dad takes on a new business partner, hoping to expand into the USA, and odd things prick at her mind, prompting a few confused, hazy recollections. When she’s finally confronted with the truth it’s shattering to her, and brings her and the man she’s fallen in love with into a very real danger, where they may get seriously injured or killed.
Its a great read, even though I started off feeling confused. I’m not sure how else that can be done though, so if like me you find it puzzling linking the events just carry on – all will come clear very soon. There’s a huge bombshell in store too, which I didn’t see coming, really took me by surprise. Very often as the story continues its easy to read between the lines and see what’s about to happen, but this had me totally bamboozled til the big reveal. Gobsmacked me, but then it made so much sense!! There’s a brief epilogue bringing us totally up to date. I like those. Its only a few pages, and that’s all I need. I just like to know once the action over, the dust has settled what happens to the people afterwards.
Stars: Four – excellent suspense and romance

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
