The Club: Jax, Book 3 of The Club Series, Jenna Elliot

The Club: Jax, Book 3 of The Club Series, Jenna Elliot
Genre:  Romance, New Adult
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Jax’ turn now….we met Audrey in an earlier book, and now she’s been passed to Jax for training. She wants to be a level three Domme, but the club rules says she must pass their tests first, which include being a Sub – something she struggles with. She needs to be in control at all times and just can’t seem to let go, but she has to find a way as she needs to understand how her Sub will feel.
Jax, he’s a rep as a hot shot trainer, great for sex but never dates, never does relationships, and seems quite a closed off, unemotional person. Audrey though quickly gets under his skin, and in the guise of a sort of thinking outside the box rational he takes her for a weekend to his private island. There, though she does relax and begin to think the way a sub would, he’s also finding his own emotions changed. His partners question what he’s doing, but he still clings to his extending her training out of club reasons, which include taking her to a private BBQ with them and their pregnant partners. Audrey’s never had friends, and doesn’t really understand what to door how to react, but they are very welcoming and she enjoys being with them, so they make more plans with her for future meets.
Alongside her training she’s also working with her partner in a kind of exchange/bartering big business. They’ve known each other for ten years now, met when they were young and both struggling to live after being let down badly by the social system. Over the years she and Carl have developed a good working relationship – suddenly though it becomes sexual one evening after she’s been to the club. That seems to change things, but she’s trying and hoping they can get back their old relationship. That worked really well, and was very profitable for them both. On top of that there’s a huge secret, something Audrey is doing for their business, but that is taking her into murky areas she doesn’t want to tread. Then it all erupts, comes out with a bang, with secrets dropping and Audrey in great danger.
Its a fun sexy read, easy to follow, and the ending certainly took me by surprise. Ace (and Emme) is still my favourite read of the three books, with a perfect ( for me) long, drawn out, sad part. Once again there was a drop here, a sad part where you wonder if they can make it, get past what’s happened, but it was a bit too short for a five for me. As always the sex scenes are hot and sensual, and well written and fit the story perfectly, so if you want a fun, sexy read this could be just what you’re looking for.
Stars: Four, sensual fun story.
