Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
I first came across Suzanne’s books with the funny and sexy Here be Sexist Vampires. Then came book one of the Phoenix pack and I loved it. I’ve re read both of those since I first bought them and they still feel funny and fresh.  From there on though the series has dropped for me progressively with each book, and its time for me to say goodbye. The books feel very “same” – as if its one plot, recycled with characters, that are different only by their names. Its become A fancies B and somehow through a few trials they get together, but along the way the Phoenix pack ( or now the Mercury Pack) have to fight another pack and the girls get bitchy with someone.
The dialogue – the snark between Greta and Taryn ( and now some of the others) was funny in book one, but now its just tiresome and irritating. Dominic’s jokes seem to get ever cheesier, to the point where I feel I’ve heard all the jokes and snark many times over. Every male wolf seems to be strong, and every female either also strong or the other extreme, girly, giggly and bitchy. The scene with the female Jackal and the ladies from the two packs was just too OTT for me. Really – she’ll take torture, but not what they did? Sorry – its a case of not the book, but me – I’m sure others will wait avidly for the next book( s)  but not me….Horses for courses and all that. I’ll still look out for anything new from Suzanne but for the Phoenix pack and I its time to part way.
Stars: Two and a half, there were some parts I enjoyed and as always Suzanne writes hot sex scenes but the main thrust of the book just didn’t cut it for me.

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
