Genre:  New Adult, Romance
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, so was pleased to find this one. I can’t remember Sky from that book, but I certainly recall the cheating Bradley. Poor Sky, that’s awful to find, that the person you love and thought loved you has been playing away…She did the right thing in giving him the elbow but she’s still confused about her feelings. Of course that’s natural, you can’t just switch off years of love – it’s not that easy.
So she’s spending summer with her extended family and friends, on a month long wedding celebration. Her beloved Uncle Pepe, flamboyant, gay fashion designer, is finally settling down with Tony, love of his life. Sky’s the wedding planner but its all going wrong, the things she’s booked keep getting cancelled, the family are always fighting and its becoming chaos. Though they all love each other dearly, its a typical noisy, loving and critical family story. They all feel they have the right to speak their minds, and they do – loudly and often. Sky’s mum loved Bradley, not so much for the man he is, but for the husband he could be, good job, plenty of money. She worked two jobs after Sky’s dad left and wants more for Sky, and doesn’t seem to understand Sky can’t just blindly say “all is forgiven, come back Bradley”.  Now she’s found a new would be suitor, and the man is awful, a real sleaze, who’s looking for a beautiful trophy wife, someone obedient and who will hang on his every word. Why he thinks that’s Sky I don’t know…she’s got the beauty undoubtedly but the rest…no, no, no. He only shows the suave side to her mum and family though – thankfully Sky has two renegade backups in the group and River and Leti keep her sane…when they’re not getting into their own problems of course! (River – she needs her own book, a great character)
Along with wedding plans that go astray there’s the wonderful Hayden. I love the way he “drops” in – just when the group are telling Sky she won’t get a man fall from the sky into her lap, Hayden falls in – through the ceiling! Fabulous. Hayden is perfect, he can see that Sky is cautious, and just gently keeps pushing forward, tiny steps, tiny bits, inserting himself carefully into her life. He’s been badly treated too, and recognises the need for slow and cautious. He thinks Sky is worth taking time over and he’s so full of fabulous ideas. What a great man he is, just perfect for her.
Its a wonderful read, with a mix of humour and pathos, love and loving, and Hayden’s special brand of romance, amid a chaotic but close family group. I felt I was part of the mix with them. It was lovely too to see Lucky and James in this book, I do like it when we see how characters from past books are doing.
Stars:  Five, a lovely and satisfying romance

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
