Again, Alabama, Susan Sands

Again, Alabama, Susan Sands
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Genre:  Women’s Fiction
Mixed feelings here, there were parts I loved, the small town southern characteristics, the way an insult is hidden in a compliment, but there were also things that irritated. I’m from the UK, but I love the world of southern competitions, here its so nard to plan because the weather is very unpredictable so reading about hot sunny outdoor events is fun. the small town gossip and they way everyone knows – or thinks the know – everything is universal to here and US, I think every small town suffers from it!! I loved Grey, but boy did he pay for that mistake back as a teen. I can understand why Cammie took off, especially when more secrets come out and I so felt for both of them. So much heartache could have been prevented, but real life is like that too – people interfere for the best of reasons when they love someone, and think that they are doing what’s best for them. Sadly it rarely is…and so it proves here. The whole family business thing seemed pretty off the wall, and I’m left wondering how on earth they made any money as it seems totally disorganised. Businesses just can’t run that way – still, it provided a family link and an excuse to get Cammie home. The counselling for both Grey and his daughter was sensitively handled, and I really felt for the poor girl. Her anger at Cammie was understandable, and things like that stick with kids, and need dealing with by professional if they are to cope with the truth and not what they’ve been told by a loved parent. Overall it was a fun read, a happy escape for a while but not one I’d read again. Stars: Three, a fun, summery read.

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
