The Trouble with Temptation, Shiloh Walker

The Trouble with Temptation,  Shiloh Walker

Genre:  Romance,

* Ignore the boring cover, the story really doesn’t reflect that!
I loved the first book in this series, and book two picks up where that one left off. Though each romance part is standalone you really need to read book one to get the background as there’s so much more going on here than just a straight love story.

Hannah has crushed on Brannon for what feels like forever. At the end of the last book they has a torrid, erotic, steamy encounter, and then Brannon pulled back, got scared when she said she loved him and told her he didn’t want her. It didn’t go down well, and then she became involved in the horrible murder of one of the locals, a lady who had the dirt on many others and was into blackmail.

Hannah’s now in a coma from the accident, pregnant, and Brannon realises just how close he came to losing her. That kind of scare forces you to look at yourself and he didn’t like they way he’d treated her, and wants her in his life. He realises now just how much he loves her and he’s determined to keep her in his life. Hannah has lost much of her memory when she recovers and Brannon can’t bring himself to own up to how he treated her…puts it off, hoping she’ll understand why he did it if she gets time to see how he can be now he’s come to his senses – but of course what will happen if she regains her memory before he’s finally owned up.

As a possible witness to the murder of Sheena she’s in danger too if the murderer decides she knows too much. Having amnesia isn’t protection – she could regain memories at any time so she’s in danger but no-one yet knows who from.

As well as the Brannon/Hannah romance there’s glimpses of the Gideon/Moira one too – the one that so intrigues me. Her ex- the awful Charles, is still slimily inserting himself into her life and hanging round…he’s got such potential!! I love a “good” bad guy or lady.

This book is full of people who aren’t what they seem, and knowing there’s a murderer lurking around its fun to try to work out who it is. There’s Sheena’s blackmail clients, a whole tribe of them from small time neighbours who just want to keep liaisons quiet to the local whiter-than-white, Family Values Senator, who’s certainly not the man he portrays publicly. We get glimpses of the murderer, but not enough to work out who it is – well, not me anyway!

Its another book that teases and tantalises and mixes a main course of steamy erotic romance with a side dish of murder. On to book three please!
Stars: Five, perfect balance of steam, drama and mystery once more

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
