The Neverland Inn by [Grant, K.C.]

Genre:  Women’s Fiction, Romance

Gah! Once more “women’s fiction”, and as usual I have to have a quick moan – why do we do this – cut off potential readers? Who says men won’t/don’t read romance, they certainly write it, so why exclude them this way?

Anyway, on to the story. I really didn’t like Daniel at first, he seemed so cold, so stuffy, so devoid of fun. In contrast Sarah is all about living each day to the fullest while having fun, enjoying life not just wading through it. She does her best to spread that air of happiness to her guests but she’s an uphill task with Daniel.
Gradually he does let down his guard, remembers that life wasn’t always work first, second and last priority, and becomes more….well, human I guess. Starts looking at people and life with different eyes. And finds himself discontented with what he’s become.

Its a slow paced story, very cute and genteel, with a close knit village who pull together when something serious happens, ( and like any mob, they show how easy it is for a mood to turn). The Wendy/Neverland theme was fun. I found it an easy read, a sweet story, but for me it was lacking in Feeling, in Drama, in Depth, and I need all those in a novel. That’s just me though, what I personally love in a story, and it isn’t what everyone wants.

Though for me this was just an OK read it could be perfect for you. Horses for courses and all that….

Stars: Three, sweet easy read but a little too light for me.

About jeanniezelos

I'm an avid reader, love my kindle and I have my head in a novel for hours daily : ) Mum used to say I'd read toilet paper if it was printed- it wasn't, so i had to contend myself with the back and sides of the cereal packets. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then... I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the 300 mark on amazon.co.uk for my reviews. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
